Move With Us: Howard Head Sports Medicine Run & Bike Clubs

Looking for more ways to stay active with your community? Vail Health's Howard Head Sports Medicine organizes free run and bike clubs across Eagle and Summit counties, welcoming all abilities, paces, and fitness levels!
  • Vail Valley Running Club — Mondays in Edwards and Thursdays in Eagle at 5:30pm. Strollers and dogs welcome. Learn more
  • Vail Valley Mountain Bike Club — Wednesdays in Eagle. All riders welcome. Learn more
  • Summit County Run Club — Mondays at 6:00pm in Frisco (June–September). All paces and abilities welcome. Learn more
  • Basalt Social Club — Wednesdays in Basalt at 5:30 pm at Outside Society in Willits starting April 22. There will be options for a group run and a fitness session. Everyone will meet after the run and fitness sessions for a social hour.

Coffee Chat with Christine Pierangeli: Metabolic Health & Continuous Glucose Monitors

Curious how your food choices impact your energy, mood, and metabolism in real time?

Join us for an intimate coffee chat with Christine Pierangeli, Master Nutritionist, hosted by the Westin Athletic Club in collaboration with Vail Healthspan. This small-group discussion will explore how continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) reveal your blood sugar patterns, and why stable glucose is the key to long-term health.

You’ll learn science-backed strategies around what, when, and how to eat to prevent spikes, crashes, cravings, and fatigue, and feel more energized, balanced, and in control of your health.

Community Wellness Walk & Talk
5:30 pm | Meet in the breezeway between Color Coffee and Endorphin, Eagle

Join Kyler Hijmans, DNP, FNP-BC, and Barry Sandler, DO, from our Vail Healthspan team for a casual outdoor walk designed to spark meaningful conversations about long-term health and wellness. Each walk includes a brief talk and ample time to connect along the way.

Strength Meets Endurance: Hybrid Workout

10:30 am | CrossFit Down Valley, Gypsum

Get ready for a full-body workout at CrossFit Down Valley! This hybrid session blends endurance and strength training for a fun and challenging experience, all levels welcome.
 
This will be coached by Pat and Janet Engle — masters hybrid athletes, HYROX and DEKA competitors, and local gym owners. They will introduce the Healthspan community to Hybrid Training which is designed to build strength, endurance, and resilience for life alongside Vicki Kenney, Vail Healthspan Coach.
 
These coached sessions blend smart programming with longevity-focused movement, creating a supportive environment for all fitness levels. Train with purpose, move well, and invest in your long-term health alongside a strong community.

Local Legends: Edge of Resilience

5:00 pm | The Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa, Lobby

Hosted by The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, this free community event brings together world-class athletes for an evening exploring the realities of high performance—the mental challenges, setbacks, and resilience required to navigate both. 

The event features slalom gold medalist and World Cup record-holder Mikaela Shiffrin, freestyle gold medalist Liz Limley, and Paralympians Meg Gustafson and Spencer Gustafson. In partnership with Speak Up Reach Out, Howard Head Sports Medicine, and Vail Healthspan, the evening fosters meaningful dialogue around mental health, resilience, and community support.

Morning Track Sessions 

6:00 am | Eagle Valley High School, Track

Join our weekly Thursday morning track workouts led by Vail Healthspan's Josiah Middaugh and Genevieve Harrison, designed to build toward a 5K with a focus on rhythm, strength, speed, and confidence. Each session improves efficiency, pacing, and turnover while supporting your overall healthspan through cardiovascular fitness and sustainable performance.

Additional upcoming sessions: Thursday, June 4 and Thursday, June 11. Join for one session or come to all, whatever fits your schedule. All levels welcome, RSVP required!
